2 Months Later

Well, the last two months sure flew by! I had hoped to post more on the blog but we've been pretty busy and haven't had wifi for most of this time. We have been living in the cabin since the beginning of August although it is still under construction. We anticipate it will be done by the end of September!

Currently I am in Canada for a few weeks and Eliu will be joining me soon. I needed a little break from all the activity and there isn't much I can do until it's all ready. Plus, I am looking forward to seeing my kids and granddaughters.

We have been planting flowers, putting up curtains, and hanging lights as the kitchen and living areas are being finished. We had a pergola put in and plan to make a nice outdoor space at the lower side of the lot. Grass is going in, as well as flower beds along the driveway.

During our time here so far, we've learned that it's the norm to buy bread from the delivery man on his motorcycle in the early morning, we've found our favourite pupusa places and the best spot for breakfast, we've visited many of the viveros in town to buy plants and flowers, and have discovered where to take nice morning walks. It's been a couple months of learning and adjusting to a very different type of life. It's very simple and slow.

We visited a couple churches for Sunday service, and on my last day before headed home we spent the day in San Salvador where we attended the Alliance church (from our CMA family) and explored the Historic Centre which has really improved! It was an enjoyable day, and so nice to be able to relax and not think about the work at the cabin.

Overall this trip has been good for us. We are learning patience, flexibility, and a new perspective on life.

We look forward to sharing more about our trip and an update on the finished cabin once it is ready to be opened as an Airbnb!

Thanks for praying for us and following our adventure! There is more to come!

With love from, Heather & Eliu.
